Math Unit 3: Proportionality and Percentages.

This unit we learned about percentages and how to find parts of a whole percent of a whole. This unit I understood that percents could be used in various ways, like in real life for shipping tax tip interest or even discounts. And now i know how to apply percentages into real life and knowing how to solve it. We also learned about multiple equations of how to calculate parts, whole and percent, and we learned to convert them by just having 2 components. We also learned a lot of how to graph and show work in different ways, for example we learned about counters, number lines, tape diagrams.

Visual Presentation

The task was to make a presentation explaining our technology and the negative and positive impacts on society and the person or group of people who solved this negative impact. What I made was a roblox creation and models of the phonograph, I chose this because im not that good of a creator in roblox. And I see thousands of games that are very high quality, and I wanted to challenge myself too.

What I did well was learning a new skill I never knew how to build model until now!

What I didn’t do so well was organizing my time, because I was so focused on the models I think i spent too much time watching tutorials.

What I did to create this essay is I first researched and went through multiple essays and papers, and annotated them one by one. Until I got what I needed which was 3 texts. And then we used a organizer to jot down all of the main ideas and facts about the 3 pieces of evidence, talking about their positive and negative effect of the technology, in my case it is a phonograph. After we finished that we moved on to the paragraph planner and we wrote out all our paragraphs. After all that is done we paste it into the overall paragraph place and we write the conclusion and introduction.

One thing I did well is organizing my time, I spent it very wisely. One thing I didn’t do so well on is grammer and punctuation on the essay.

Me as a collaborator

  1. When I was placed in new table groups, I did not complain but I tried to start conversations with my table group, and I was happy with anyone I sat with!
  2. When it was the start of class and I was the first one there at my table I would go get the notebooks, so is the end of class if our table group didn’t want to put it back I would volunteer, it is really not hard to put away the notebooks and folders, so I’m happy to do it.
  3. When I was asked to talk with a partner I would do it right away, and I am very comfortable talking to anyone.
  4. I am very active when it comes to raising my hand and sharing my thoughts. And I don’t even feel like thats something you have to do. Its something I like to do because I think its fun, sharing my ideas and thoughts with others.
  5. When I worked with a partner in the first dystopian story we made together. We shared our thoughts often and worked together really well, even though the time to do such a complicated and long story wasn’t long but we managed to get every plot conflict and character in place.
  6. When me and partner was working on the product branding we worked efficiently thinking of good ideas to promote and show, this project was very fun because we both shared all our ideas and collaborated well with different ideas and sort it out into a idea with both our thoughts combined!

I would rate myself somewhere between and meeting and exceeding. I think others will also say that I am not a person that keeps thoughts to myself and doesn’t cooperate well in groups and teams. My improvement was noticeable ever since I started knowing others very well in my class I tend to say more and that is noticeable compared to when thee school year first started.

RC CAR REFLECTION

We made an RC car by ourselves and learned to 3d model on onshape and create car part for our car.

I learned how to use onshape and I now learned how to create high quality pieces for my car using the 3D printer and using a lot of creativity and layers.

I did the assembling very well because I figured out correctly on where everything goes. I also 3D design really well because I learned to use multiple good tools by myself, and managed to figure them out.

What I didn’t do well is taking too much time on making my 3d design that I didn’t have too much time to print.

Clock project reflection

We were making a clock designed specifically for a teacher that we got. My teacher was Mr. Preston the PE teacher, and I designed a melting pasketball clock on fire.

I learned more about ink scape and how to spray paint well.

I used creativity in my designed and decided to spray paint both of my clock hands gold to fit with the theme which no many people did. I also applied a gradient on the flames and it worked pretty well.

What didn’t go well is the clock was very small and the clock was too small and if there were numbers we could tell the time more easily.

ELA Unit 2 Formative #2 (CERER Dystopian characteristics)

WHAT ARE YOU PROUD OF?

I did good at providing more relevant evidences, to support. followed the rubric in terms of the meaning of the text, the only flaws were grammer issues. Something I did really well on is I did correctly support and explain my dystopian characteristic.

WHAT WERE SOME CHALLENGES?

Using colons or commas in front of quotes were really challenging.

IF YOU WERE TO REDO THE ASSESSMENT WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE?

I would look at the require ment for reasoning better, so that I could write deeper analysis’s. And I would look over my grammer before I turn the test in.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO BETWEEN NOW AND THE NEXT SUMMATIVE?

I would use the CERER flint bot to practice three different CERER for multiple stories, and use IXL for grammar and determining main messages. I would look back to the determine the mistakes on different passages and fixing grammar mistakes. I would write some notes.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF MOVING FORWARD?

I would pay attention to the deeper meanings of the text much more, and actually express that out loud, in my CERER. And to pay attention to grammar issues and mistakes.

Unit 1 Formative Reflection

I explained how I knew that the influencer used a specific purpose because I found some sentences that the influencer said that helps them entertain or promote this airline.
I should use words with stronger meaning, or words that could make the audience think deeper about the product, in the perspective of the influencer promoting the product. Next time I should find the strongest words in the video with a lot of strong connotation.
I did show clear explanation for connotations, the teacher gave feedback that said that I chose clear words from the video and explained their connotations well.
I did a great job of choosing words that influenced the audience. I could improve on this next time by choosing words that can affect the audience by providing a sense of urgency or emphasizing something that is really good.
I feel confident in choosing my words and giving them connotations. I feel less confident in the area of adding details and specifications in my examples that shows the authors purpose.
If I could revise the formative I would add more examples and more sentences to include, because I only have 1 example and adding more can also show multiple purposes.
Next time I would try to include connect my examples to not just one but multiple purposes.
