In this unit, we learned about different sexual identities and how to have healthy relationships with others, I learned the differences between flirting and sexual harassment. We also learned about allyship, consent, and good boundaries inside of a relationship. Another important thing that we learned is how to include people and not be offensive and how to think and not be stereotypical. We did a project at the end of the unit which was about picking a relationship from media and then saying if it was healthy or not and how to fix it. We did the song “All of Me” by John Legend, I think that this is an important project because it shows our learning through the unit and it shows how people who might be famous or people in tv shows or movies have problems with their relationship. The two people in All of Me have a pretty healthy relationship but, the male (John Legend) seems to be more dominant and more controlling in the relationship. Therefore, we said that they should add more boundaries in the relationship.
During this unit we learned about mental health and the different parts of the executive functioning and wellbeing. We did a presentation about brain disorder/mental health problem. My presentation was on addiction. I think that I learned a lot in this unit for example, Before this unit, I used to think that mental health was not as important as physical health. But after this unit I think that mental health is just as important as physical health and is something that we should all focus more on.

We also learned about the stigmas of these mental health problems. We learned that there a lot of stereotypes about certain mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. We learned that there are common misconceptions about mental health disorders like OCD, Anxiety , PTSD, and depression.

My thinking changed because I learned that mental health problems affect a human being a lot and that mental health problems can affect physical health as well. I learned that a lot of movies and TV shows help spread different bad stereotypes about mental health and that most of them are portraying it in the wrong way which is bad. In our presentation we also put different areas of our brain that are affected and the different areas of the brain that are affected, the causes, the treatments, and more.

In unit one of science we learned about Earth, the start of the solar system, planets, origin, motion, and waves. To end off the unit we made a meteor model showing what would happen when a meteoroid turns into a meteor and into a meteorite we also learned and modeled about the difference of comets and meteoroids.
We were also assessed on waves (transverse and longitudinal). We learned about the different parts of the waves like the rarefaction and the wavelength. Throughout the unit we had miniature “tests” called 3 for 3s. They were tests with 3 question to see what areas we could grow on and how much we understood about what we learned so far.
I think that the area I improved on the most is turning my work in on time. At the beginning of the year I turned in a lot of work in late and I think that as the year went on I definitely improved on turning my work in and I think that I consistently turn my work in before the deadline.

1. I chose question 8 (Describe with mathematical precision the sequence of transformations that maps figure EFGH to figure ABCD) as my best work because this was the optional exceeding question that was in the test, and I got it correct. I believe that this question effectively demonstrates my learning throughout the unit. In this question, I used transformations, reflections, and dilations with mathematical language.

2. I chose question 7b (If figure E is congruent to figure F) as evidence of my best work because this question was a question that I was stuck on; however, I kept trying, and I eventually got through it, and I got it correct. This question also showed rotations and reflections with the proper mathematical language.
3. Throughout this unit, I improved the most at using mathematical language. I say this because when we first started this unit, I was very confused with the mathematical language, and now that we have finished this unit, I feel like I have learned how to use the correct mathematical language and that I can consistently use it correctly.
4. I feel that I still need to work on my observation because sometimes I think that the image is actually the pre-image, and then I only notice that I got it wrong after I finish the question, which makes me take more time on a question.
5. List three of your strengths so far this year.
– Turning in all my work on time
– Understanding the concepts
– Using Mathematical Language
In this unit, we got music like Overture to Lucillo Silla, Ice Sculptures, Carol of the bells/greensleeves, and winter with you. Winter with you is a song with a colloboration with VMM (Vocal Modern Music). We had different formative and summative assesments to see where we were and how we could improve and i did well with my rythm but i need to work on my posture and my intonation as sometimes I am too sharp or too flat and my bow hold needs to be more relaxed and be adjusted. The concert will be in November which is really exciting but I still have to improve a lot.
I predict that Evernote will help me manage my homework, work, and other important things. I think it can help me turn in my homework on time, manage my time effectively, and also plan my day more efficiently.

The features I relied on most were Evernote’s note-taking capability, to-do lists, and the notebook organization system. These tools allowed me to create detailed notes about assignments and deadlines while keeping everything organized in separate notebooks for different subjects or categories. However, I encountered some technical limitations with the app’s performance. The typing interface was occasionally laggy, which made it difficult to quickly input information and sometimes interrupted my workflow when I needed to capture ideas or tasks quickly.
Evernote’s design supported my goals through its intuitive navigation and user-friendly interface. The clean layout made it easy to quickly access my notes and to-do lists without getting distracted, which was essential for maintaining focus on my time management objectives. The notebook organization feature helped create a logical structure that matched how I think about my different classes and responsibilities.
I would definitely recommend Evernote to other students struggling with time management. The app is very intuitive and beginner-friendly, making it accessible even for students who aren’t comfortable with technology. Its ease of use removes barriers to getting organized, which is crucial for developing better time management habits. (Written in collaboration with Flint AI)

In this unit, we learned a lot about different types of words and sentences, such as complex, compound, simple, and complex-compound sentences. We showed our learning by using an AI chatbot, which simulated us teaching an alien how to use English words and how to use different types of sentences to form a paragraph to explain why the alien was on Earth. The piece that shows the most growth for me is the alien poster that we made, I think that it shows everything that I learned so far.

During this unit, we learned a lot about the brain and the different parts of the brain, such as the amygdala, hippocampus, and the prefrontal cortex, and how all of these different parts of the brain come together and cause the FFF response, which stands for fight, flight, or freeze. We also learned about other parts of our brain that affect the FFF response, such as the parasympathetic nervous system and the sympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system is for the rest and digest functions, while the sympathetic nervous system is for the fight or flight situations. During our unit, we learned about different key things like cortisol and dopamine. The FFF response tells us how to react to stressful situations. To show our learning, we did different activities like puzzles and behavior analysis. As our L4, we did a presentation with partners. Julian, Gio, and I talked about how the teenage brain is different from the adult brain, how the parts of the brain come together to make the FFF response, and how much time it takes for all of these parts to develop fully.

Learning about brain science helped me understand more about my brain and how different parts of my brain work together to keep me safe during dangerous or stressful situations. Some surprising things that I learned about the teenage brain were that the brain only fully develops once you are 25. Another surprising thing is that the brain is that the brain works together with the entire rest of the body to do the FFF response.
This unit was table tennis and we learned how to serve, strike, and how to use some spin in our moves. Table tennis was pretty fun and good however I think that I could have been a little bit better. I feel that I did pretty good during the unit with my striking and serving. But, if i wanted to improve something I would definitely improve my spin because I particularly struggled with that area in the unit. During the unit we practiced hoe to play singles and doubles and we played a lot of games to use the things that we learned. In conclusion, during the unit we learned about a lot of things such as serves, backhand, forehand, topspin, backspin, how to play singles, and how to play doubles. If I was to do the unit again i would want to improve my spin.
