Social Studies Unit 2: Visual Presentation

This project relates back to the essay and for my project I made a chose your own advancer book. I chose this to show that the choses that befit your dog team are often the best options. It took a lot of plaining in advance using a flow chart, but I was able to finish this project in time to present. By the end it was around 36 pages. One thing I should work on is making sure that I can work more efficiently next project. I feel I was able to make a pretty good and creative project that shows the story of dog sliding and how It is used.

Social Studies Unit 2: Essay

In this essay I discussed the impacts of dogs sleds on human society mainly in the arctic.

My main points were that it was positive

  • Migration
  • Goods transport
  • Obtaining food

My main points for negatives were mostly surrounding animal rights and treatment.

I feel I did a decent job writing, but I could always improve my explain section of my essay. The topic I chose, Dog Sledding was a pretty hard topic to find information for my essay. Next time I plan to chose a easier topic.

Unit 3 Math Reflection

I understood what percentage change was and how to find it.

Some new things I learned was ways I could use percent change in my life, such in banking or comparing restraints.

What I found intriguing this unit was that there was so many different types of savings accounts with different factors in if you should use a certain one or a different one.

Somethings that was tricky was the final project because I missed 2 days of school when we were working on it, but I was still able to finish it.

Unit 2 Science

In this unit I learned the various different functions of our organ systems, the different parts of cells, and what happens to our bodies when we get sick.

What happens to our body when we get sick?

When we get sick there is there is an immune response to prevent any more damage to the body.

In this unit I mostly understood everting and during the cell part of the unit I was able to remember all of the cell parts.

Somethings I could work on I writing CERS in general such as in my reasoning section of my essays.

RC Car Unit

In this unit I learned how to use the CAD on shape. This helped me design the top part of my RC car. I was able to learn many tools within the CAD. This later helped me design my model for science class. This skill of designing in 3D will help me in the rest of my school year and the rest of my life.

Design Tech Clock Project

During this first official unit of DT I learned how to use my first design app Inkscape. I was able to make a nice looking functioning clock. I also learned more craftsmanship skills. It was very enjoyable to make the clock. My clock was a Chinese zodiac that also has the numbers in Chinese characters I did this because the clock was made for a Chinese teacher.

Soccer Reflection

I learned about how to play soccer. What helped was that I got helpful comments from my peers and coach. I am proud that I was able to be a good goalie. I am also proud that I was able to do good during defense. I want to work on my ball control and shooting.

Math unit 2 reflection

U: One thing I understood from unit is the concept of a scale drawing being a drawing of something made to be bigger or smaller by a ratio.

N: Some new information I learned Scale Factor which is the number that all factors of a shape is multiplied by to make a scale drawing to make it bigger or smaller.

I: Something I found interesting this unit was how much better I was able to understand scale drawings after it and how the much the area can change from a change of scale factor.

T: Something I found trick this unit was how the area changed when the scale factor was changed. Instead of what I thought was it only got multiplied by the scale factor it in fact was changed by original area times the scale factor squared.

PE Swimming Reflection

During this unit I learned how to float better and swim in general. I learned artistic swimming moves like ostler and flips. I we also learned the signs of drowning and how to prevent it and help people who are drowning. I could improve with my swimming in general and make my artistic routine better.

Volleyball Unit 2 Gym

I managed to control the ball when it was moving fast, by aiming my arms towards the direction I wanted to go. for example when I did a boom I would need to angel my arms downward more to get it back over the net, if it was a pass I would angel it up to gain more control, or I would angel it sideways to pass to the player next to me. I stayed focused by only looking at the ball, and its path, and moved to go under where I thought it would go so that I could bump or hit it over the net.
