this unit we worked on table tennis. i never really played table tennis so this unit i learnt a few things, backhand and serving with backhand. some of the rules i didn’t even know existed. and we also worked forehana. i think i should work on wearing my full kit and being more organised.
Different apples can taste, look, and feel different because of their genes and where they grow. Their genes help decide things like sweetness and crunchiness. Sunlight, weather, and soil can change their color and size.
Farmers often grow apples by grafting, which makes apples that are exactly the same as the parent tree. Bees help with pollination, which mixes genes and can create new kinds of apples.
The Pollination and Franken Fruit videos helped me learn because I could see the ideas instead of just reading about them. I learn best by watching and seeing examples.
The Baby Dragon group activity also helped me understand genetics. Working with my classmates let us talk about traits and learn together.
One thing I want to improve is turning in my work on time. Sometimes I waited until the last minute and rushed. Next unit, I will use a planner and do a little work each day so I can finish assignments on time.

- Wear long pants so you dont get scraped up on the rocks.
- Be physically ready for a the worst, exhausting activities
- Have low expectations so you are not disappointed by the living conditions.
- Pushing through the tough parts makes leaving so much better.
- i am proud of myself for going up there and doing the presentation even though i was quite nervous
- some challenges i faced was when i was getting asked the questions and i froze
- after receiving my feedback both peer and teacher, i changed my speech a bit and made some adjustments to the slides
- if i were to redo the summative assessment i would give us more time and waste less paper
- its better to get it over with and go the first day
In our Grade 7 basketball unit we learnt about the basics. We started with dribbling where we practiced keeping the ball near us and using our finger tips instead of our palms. We also learned how run while dribbling and to keep our heads up so we could see the rest of the court. The next thing we learnt was passing the ball and learning how to shoot. this helped us with using teamwork. i think i did well on passing as i used to play netball. what i need to improve on might be dribbling and i will improve on it by practising more.

explain the steps/process
the first thing we did was choosing if we wanted to work with a partner or not, after that we found the person we wanted to do we researched them. Once we gathered all our research we put it into our knowledge organiser. after adding the citations for our information we started looking for a video. after the video was found we wrote down all the information on the video and again, added it to our knowledge organiser. once the knowledge organiser was done we wrote our script. once the script was done we made our video and presented it to the class.
what went well
what went well was when the video was timed out with my speech.
how can you inprove
a lot of the body paragraphs read like storytelling instead of an argumentative paragraph. use more transitional phrases that we use when writing cause and effect

i learned how to dragon dance for the first time. it was very interesting and surprisingly hard. i overcame that by asking the teacher and other peers for help. This experience shows that teamwork is the most important part of dragon dancing. If one person is out of step, the movement of the dragon can look disorganized. so staying in sync was very important.

I learned how to play badminton and got better and improved on my serving, this really helped me in my game as I learned the different techniques to win a point by serving throughout the duration of playing badminton .
in this topic I’ve also learned the different grips to use in badminton I’ve realised that this really helped me as I started hitting longer and further and got better at controlling how far the bird went.

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?
Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS. When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:- An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
- Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
- Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
- Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
