Lunch Food Change Letter

I wrote a letter to the principal to try to deliver a idea and a suggestion to make the lunch food better, through the process of writing this idea it helped me understand the flaws that existed in the food that we have in the cafeteria. Furthermore, this activity helped me enhance my communicator skills through the practice of writing a letter to the principal.

Zoom activity🔍

I think I did well on effective communicator, although at the second part of the activity I did not have a picture, however I still managed to help the group to complete the activity by partnering with others. This activity was to help us improve our effective communicator, and I think the meaning of the activity was met and the activity was very successful.

Makerspace project 1:

In the first class in the maker space we were assigned to cut or print out a silhouette. I didn’t have much idea on what i was going to print out so i just did a video game character reference. I did face some challenges in inkscape but I solved it after. It aligns with Creative Leaner

GenAI

My goal for my usage of AI is that before using AI, I want to think about whether it’s the right thing to do and if it might affect others. Some obstacles that will prevent me from reaching my goals are that I might not be aware of the impacts on other when im using AI, moreover, in my perspective it might not cause any issues or impacts to others and I will think its the right thing to do. However, in other people’s perspective it may make it unfair, unequal and cause many different impacts. A way I can help my use of AI is to monitor it through taking down notes on what I used AI for, and that can increase the transparency when using AI and monitor my usage easily.

EL SKIT TAKEAWAY

The main takeaway i got from these activities is the main idea that many things that we do that are harmful for other people, we aren’t aware about the impact that is done. For example, there was one skit where they surrounded someone just to confront him, this also makes the person scared and starts defending themselves but the people in the skit didn’t realize what they had done. People should increase their awareness of the actions that they perform, the impact on others and the impact on themselves.

The tome of reflection

It’s important to credit your sources well so you are able to back track your sources, and if your using evidence from your sources it very clear on whether it is reliable or not. moreover, having good citations can also help u find your sources again whether your changing your essay or editing your evidence.

Thing I Wish I had known in MS

I have been in this school for the entirety of middle school, so i have experienced a lot. I have may regrets and mistakes, and there are some things I wished i did differently.

One of the many aspects is communication, navigating different teachers’ expectations for assignments can be confusing, so communication is key. I wished I understood that it’s normal to feel pressure from peers and that prioritizing my own values matters more. I would have liked to know about the various clubs and activities available, as they’re great opportunities to explore interests. I wish someone had told me that middle school is a great time to start developing good study habits for example having a system to keep track and improve your time management skills.. I found out too late that joining sports teams can teach teamwork and also help relieve stress.

I wished I knew that everyone makes mistakes and that it’s okay to not be perfect.
Learning how to stand up for myself and others is an essential skill I wish I’d worked on earlier.I wish I had realized that teachers can be allies in navigating social situations and academic challenges. Finally, I wish I had known that middle school is just one part of my journey, and it’s okay not to have everything figured out just yet.

In order to bring out the best of self in high school, I will try to prioritize my own values more, I will join various clubs, and improve my time management.

Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
  • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
