Reflection For Art (Sketchbook Cover)

In my journey to create this sketch book I created a sketch of what it would be like and also explained how it connects from one idea to another( I used a game character that moves from one idea to another). To make it interesting I made Game characteristics such as jump pads and jump orbs, and in game gravity.

P.E. Badminton Reflection

What I Did Well

  1. Mastered the basic underhand serve mechanics—correct grip, shuttle placement at waist height, and smooth swing. Most serves cleared the net and landed in the service court.
  2. Kept a stable, balanced stance throughout practice, so I never lost my footing mid-swing.
  3. Listened to feedback and adjusted quickly (e.g., fixing shuttle height to improve accuracy right away).

What I Didn’t Do Well

  1. No power variation in serves—all were the same strength, making them easy for opponents to predict.
  2. Slow to get into ready position after serving; I stood still instead of preparing for the return.

How to Get Better

  1. Practice adjusting power: Try softer short serves and slightly stronger long serves to mix it up.
  2. Form a habit of resetting my stance immediately after each serve—focus on moving my feet right after hitting the shuttle.
  3. Drill regularly to build muscle memory for consistent, varied underhand serves.

Unit 2 Visual Presentation Reflection

The task was to create a visual presentation for explaining this transportation. I chose to build it using cardboard because I like hands on activities and I thought this would have been a good idea to represent what I learned.

One thing I did good on is explaining the segways purpose and why it failed to parents on the presentation day.

One thing I need to work on is to pay more attention to building the model and trying to make it better using techniques maybe from online resources.

Social Studies Unit 1: Essay

Before the essay I received some feedback for my essay and also worked on how to implement those feedback on my work to my final essay. My teacher also told the class not to use words that mean 100% if you are not sure instead use probably…

one thing I did well on the essay is that I listened to my teacher because I used probably and most likely instead of definitely or just simply stating that it is correct 100%.

One thing I need to work on is on being specific on my evidence and better connecting it to my claim because I think my evidence was too vague and it didn’t connect with the claim well enough.

Science Reflection

Part 1: Essential Question and Standard Reflection

Essential Question:
I chose to answer B: How do our body systems work together when we play our favorite sport?

Learning about cells and human body systems provided crucial insights into the interdependent roles each system plays during physical activity. When we engage in sports, our muscular, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems coordinate seamlessly to enhance performance. For instance, as the muscles work harder, the heart pumps more blood to deliver oxygen, while the lungs facilitate gas exchange to meet the increased demands for oxygen. This intricate collaboration is a clear representation of how the body functions as a system of subsystems, with groups of specialized cells working together harmoniously. Understanding this dynamic helped me appreciate the importance of maintaining these systems through proper training and nutrition. Overall, the knowledge I gained emphasized that every movement is a result of complex interactions among different cellular and systemic levels.

Part 2: Learning Experiences

The most impactful learning experience for me was the Dissections (Pig’s heart/lungs and Bullfrog). Engaging directly with anatomical specimens deepened my understanding of human anatomy and allowed me to visualize how various systems work together. I am a tactile and visual learner, so the hands-on dissection helped solidify my knowledge of body systems and their interactions. Additionally, Modeling Activities (Edible cell and clay models) were also informative; they provided a fun and engaging way to represent complex biological structures visually. Combining visual and experiential learning catered to my strengths and helped me internalize the coursework more effectively.

Part 3: Improvements

If I could improve one aspect of my learning in this unit, it would be adding all required elements of a model (title, labels, descriptions, scale, and color). Ensuring that my models are complete and accurately labeled would enhance clarity and understanding for both myself and others viewing the work. Additionally, incorporating these elements would encourage me to focus on the details, reinforcing the crucial concepts I need to master. By emphasizing model completeness, I would be better prepared for assessments and future learning experiences.

Me as a collaborator reflection

I think I deserve only a 2 because I think that I need some reminders to focus and I don’t stay quiet, I talk with my group members and collaborate and atay positive and I never got negative so on that part I think I got a 3.

I would take the entire basket of folders and notebooks before we had a conversation of who to bring it so I think I should keep doing that.

When I was asked to talk with a elbow partner I would collaborate and talk that person about the topic.

I usually don’t raise my hand because to me thats not how I learned things before, in my school everyone had to stay quiet until the teacher picked us, so Im not to it.

In the second unit I got feedback from my partner and fixed it accordingly and i think fixed the issue.

In the first unit when I worked with a partner to revise I told him to be honest about it and he told me that my work is good but needed more details and more strong words.

Other students might think I sometimes don’t focus but when reminded I get on task and overall a good partner.

I will improve by trying to break my habit of staying quiet and not raising hand.

Unit 2 Summatives

I think my Summatives was better than my formatives because I learned from my past mistakes. My mistake on the conventions when I messed up when to put the commas. I decided to practice that and did better on the summative.

I am proud of my pitch presentation because I presented clearly and explained my character confidently.

Some challenges were doing the reasoning part and I am struggling with it because I failed to dive into detail of the example and show significance.

I think for the presentation I used the feedback well on it because when I presented to my partner and got feedback I made sure to use it in the summative.

If I could redo the summative for the CERER I would practice 10Hrs instead of 5 so I would understand the bot more.

I would tell myself to push myself to practice more than enough just in chase.

One goal I would set for the future is that I need to work harder than now by 2 times like practice more and read more because practicing 5hrs isnt enough to get a meeting.

Reflection on Unit 3 DECIDE Model

This is the DECIDE model on whether to drink alcohol with friends or not.

In this model we added many info such as the consequences of drinking too much like not being able to stop drinking and also not being able to control emotions and mood swinging a lot.

I learned in this unit that we have to think before we act because if we evaluate the problem correctly we could avoid making the wrong choice. Because of alcoholism a disease, people with it might experience withdrawal after quitting drinking and if you take just a little more you will get addicted to it again.

The DECIDE model can keep you safe and also keep your friends safe if you do the right thing when you choose to not drink with your friends maybe someone will also agree with you. This doesn’t mean it will work 100% of the time but it will help with the problems most of the time.

Math Unit 3: Proportionality and Percentages

As I look back on our unit about percent, I can honestly say I’ve learned a lot. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea of converting fractions and decimals into percentages. But after some practice and seeing how these concepts apply to real life—like figuring out discounts at stores—I started to feel more comfortable.

One thing that really helped was participating in class discussions. I didn’t just sit back; I asked questions when I was confused, and it turned out a lot of my classmates had the same questions. It felt great to know we were in this together! Also, working with friends during study sessions made math feel less like a chore and more like a puzzle we were solving as a team.

Still, I noticed that I sometimes took too long on tests, which stressed me out. To get better, I want to practice under timed conditions so I can work more quickly and confidently. I’m also excited to learn about percentage increase and decrease—topics that seem super useful for real-life situations like budgeting and planning.
