Art Exhibition

Art 1: From Brazil, With Love
This drawing shows me all in blue, feeling quiet and thoughtful. Behind me are bright, happy pictures of things from my childhood in Brazil—like coxinha, Turma da Mônica, and Guaraná. It’s like things that resonate with me cheering me up, even when I feel a little sad/blue.

Art 2: Capital
This piece is created to simulate the emotion of change, with the boards sliding and not being even. It also aims to show where i have many connections to.

Art 3: Casa
My artwork mixes patterns and colors from Latin heritage – Italian, Brazilian, and Mexican cultures. I included Italian lemon prints, Mexican zigzag designs, and Brazilian geometric shapes, using colors from each culture’s traditional textiles and flags. While honoring these roots, I also added my own personal color choices, making the piece cultural and personal.

My Student Led Conference 2025

Introduction

The purpose of my conference is to share with you how I’ve progressed this year, the work I’ve done and what I want to achieve.

My Vision Board

Some of the things included on my vision board are:

  • Cup of water
I would like to drink more water
  • Stack of books
I love reading and would like to get into it more.
  • Painting
Painting is a passion I would love to get more into.
  • Piggy Bank
I would like to save more money.

My Goals Are:

  1. My first goal is to engage more in painting because it is something I really enjoy by spending a couple minutes a day drawing or using watercolor to improve my techniques.
  2. My second goal Is to improve my time management and organization by using the Notes app to keep my assignments on track and know when I have to submit them.
  3. My third goal is to Improve my participation in class by engaging more in class discussions and raising my hand in class more.

Here is evidence of how I was able to start to make progress towards my goals.

First Goal:

Second Goal:

Transdisciplinary Transfer Goal (TTG)

The TTG I chose to reflect upon throughout the year is to be more of a effective colaborator during my passion project

This Image demonstrates being an effective collaborator because me and my partner divided the work we would do equally. We also worked together on tracing the line work.

Science SLC: Evidence of Organization

Table of Contents – Notebook

Improvement Artifacts – Models

Before and After

The two artifacts I chose are and example of growth in my modeling skills. The first Image has been well drawn, however I did not utilize any color. Whereas in the second image I utilized colors to help make the information clear and make the model more understandable.

How useful is my science notebook as a learning tool?

My Science notebook is organized and helps me keep my focus in class because using my notebook is usually a more interactive task.

Artifact 1 Language Arts: Netflix Narrative

For my first artifact on language arts, I chose my Netflix narrative piece. This project was very interesting and fun to do. I especially enjoyed getting to work with my peers in creating movie scenes which included the introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution by using the help of Ai. At first I struggled with getting ideas to write about. But after talking to my teacher and also trying to incorporate AI into my idea process, it became much easier to write and come up with new ideas for my scene. I am very proud of this piece because I tried very hard on this project and it was very fun to be able to collaborate with my peers.

Art: Challenging Aspects

The units we have done in the past semester were very fun but some were a bit more challenging for me than others. One example of this is The Impact of Exhibitions assignment. This is because this project was a bit more tricky because it required mostly writing and reflecting on artworks of other people. This was more challenging because it required less engagement with others and mostly individual work which caused my attention to slip sometimes which was a bit frustrating. However this semester I plan to try and keep my focus more during individual work by trying to be more engaged in what i’m doing.

Art: Areas of Success.

During our first semester, we engaged in an interesting activity called Art of Balance which explores creating art with an aspect of illusion to make things seem as though they are balancing. This was a very engaging and fun project for eme to do because I was able to work in a group which was very helpful for me because I enjoy working in group settings very much and it helps me be more successful like for example our art of balance piece.

Artifact 1: Perspectives and Issues Debate

The first artifact I chose is my debate on perspective and Issues speech for social studies. I selected this artifact because I feel as though it was very throughly researched. When I was doing this debate project, I had to confer a lot with my partner to make sure we did not put the same things or if our information went together. At first I didn’t talk to much to my partner but as I got more comfortable with the project I was able to have more conversations with my partner about the debate and how we were doing.

Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
  • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
