Reflection

Effective Collaborator Reflection

Looking back at my Effective Collaborator tasks, I can tell how much teamwork can bring in to common aspirations. At times, a grind like coming up with my new workout split with some of the guys. We went over different fitness levels and preferences so that everyone was involved. Together, through amalgamation of our knowledge we compiled a variety and personalized routine for us all.

The group effort inspired both accountability and made it fun, we motivated each other and cheered small wins during the adventure.

One of the biggest project was creating a tower on team basis. We worked the task in away that would utilize each team members strengths, and it really streamlined our process so we were more efficient Now, we brainstormed for more ideas and to solve how together.

It illustrates how communication and trusting each other is key — we took each other’s suggestions and adjusted our plans accordingly.

In each of those tasks I discovered that collaboration needs equal respect and a common purpose. Instead, I knew that working together created better results and deeper relationships which provide an enabling environment for all of us to grow.

Skillful Communicator Reflection

Thinking about the skills I gained as a skilled communicator, it all comes back to my humble opinion that communication is the first step in communication. For instance, there was one instance that I remember impressed our debate club members by making a presentation. In this first example I focused on developing the structure of the content, selected interesting visuals and short words to deliver hard topics orally. I do active listening during the pitch to drive questions and discussion, which creates a collaborative vibe. This illustrated to me how important it is that what I say is relevant to the audience and simple in such a way that its main points are audible and actionable.

A big milestone besides all that, was teaching English to visually impaired kids. It forced me to change my communication methods in place yet using gestures, descriptive language and hand aids. I discovered the importance of listening and hearing for themselves feedback so to make sure my students were getting what I taught. Experience, once more I realized the diversity of learning styles and necessity for communication in inclusivity.

Both a task showed me that real communication is not just about sending information but also in making relationships and creating a listening environment where everyone is valued and voicified. Having these experiences have helped me during all my future communications to improve on Communication, and be more empathetic/ adaptable.

Resilience Reflection:

When I think about my journey of resilience, immensely, playing volleyball as well as assisting the ayis in their chores has brought exquisite joy to my life. Volleyball is also quite effective for stress relief. I am always able to release my pent up emotions and have complete control over my energy in a constructive manner which is incredibly freeing and joyous. I learn so much from every single one of these matches, from values such as the importance of teamwork, mental fortitude as well as overcoming the disappointment of missing a shot or losing a point. The bond that exists between my teammates strengthens the notion of us being able to tackle any problem together, indeed, we have the ability to inspire each other.

In the same way, aiding the ayis has certainly enhanced my perspective on challenges and resilience in a different manner. It has taught me the valuable skills of patience and flexibility while performing multiple tasks and solving issues they encounter. Providing such support and assistance allows me to promote strength in a community devoid of overburdening anyone, and is definitely something I strive to do more of. My understanding of resilience has shifted, it now surrounds performing actions along with a supportive attitude positively towards problems.

Together, these activities have reshaped how I think about resilience, which is more than individual strength alone; it is about connection with others and support, something I will remember throughout my entire life.

Critical Thinker Reflection

Today, I want to share my experience of being a critical thinker while planning an Asian history scavenger hunt and how this task enhanced my logical reasoning and my appreciation of history. I began with a research phase. I tried to pinpoint the most important events, people, and cultural milestones from different Asian societies. This meant not just compiling data but evaluating and critically sifting through the sources to ascertain their credibility and relevance.

As I created the scavenger hunt, I paid particular attention to the formulation of the clues and questions, all geared towards driving the participants to apply analytical reasoning to the material. The aim was to foster engagement by encouraging them to juxtapose the past with the modern world. This challenged me to think about how I would articulate sophisticated ideas in an interesting yet comprehensible way so that the participants would feel inclined to inquire more.

In addition, the mock feedback pointed out to me the value of flexibility in critical thinking. I had to learn how to change the questions to fit the answers that participants gave me. The goal was to make the hunt educational – which it ultimately was – but also to make sure it was fun. Most importantly, I was able to strengthen my ideas about participatory learning in history and reflect on how critical thinking is needed in putting the past into the workable contexts of the present.

Creative Learner Reflection

When thinking on my work as a creative learner from both composing a song to playing squash, I see how these activities were complementary to my growth. Writing a song was a wonderfully exciting journey of feeling and ideas. I played around with various tunes and lyrics because I wanted to go where my mind took me. This process taught me that vulnerability is an important emotion to have and share to an extent since I had to be vulnerable and self-confident when presenting my music. My friends added an interesting angle since we were able to blend our styles into the final product which was a combination of different approaches.

In contrast, my participation in squash brought out my creativity differently. While playing, I had to think strategically about my movements and shots. Every game was different. It forced me to adjust how I approached the game, from changing my techniques to predicting my opponent’s movements. Such an atmosphere encouraged me to use my imagination and think on my feet.

These experiences allowed me to understand that creativity is more than just traditional approaches to art. Engaging in sports or music can be equally creative and is always beneficial because it makes engaging with issues at hand more pleasurable and makes me more actively engaged with what I have to learn.

Flexibility Routine

We created a flexibility routine that stretches major muscle groups and helps circulation. Each should be done 15 seconds for 3 sets.

1st & 2nd – Raised leg stretch, stretches your hamstrings and glutes

3rd & 5th – Stretches your back and tricepss

4th & 6th – Arm twist – stretches the pectoralis minor and major

7th – down ward dog – belly stretch

Mindful Walking

During our block, we walked outside, enjoying the different aspects of nature. The moment we stepped out of the door, we heard the sound of a water fountain, water splashing against water, creating a peaceful white noise. After a few steps, we say water droplets hanging from the tree leaves, glistening under the shining sun. We headed towards the clear field, seeing the vast land of grass, and hearing birds chirping in the distance. We layed on the grass, feeling its’ soft touch, and looking up at the cotton-candy-like clouds.

Helping my Community

We aked the ayi to give us a job to help our community. She told us that we could go clean the staircase and gave us two brooms.

We used the time to clean up the stairwell and we realized how hard it is to be an ayi and clean up after many students. There were dust and hair everywhere, especially in small corners that the brooms could not reach. Where ever we go we see a clean campus and we take that for granted, but we have to appreciate the work that goes behind and how much work and sweat has gone into this job.

Smart AI, Smarter You

AI is rapidly developing over the years and has majorly improved. Although this is the case, AI is still a web scanner that reads all the data online and summarizes it. Media online often has particular biases or unrepresented ideas, which means AI would not be perfect in pointing you to a fully correct idea. Therefore, it is always important to double check the important information from the AI with a grown-up or reliable source to make sure it is correct with minimal bias and misrepresentation. I will achieve my goal by double checking information whenever i ask AI an important opinionated question and make sure i check from a more reliable source. A roadblock that may come into my way is the temptation to just use what is there for you and not putting in extra effort to do something that wouldn’t change the end result as much. But a constant reminder that this is good for the community and my work will help me keep on pursuing the goal. It would act like a norm or rule that keeps everything orderly and true, making sure information is valid and work is correct.
