Passion Project

Art Group Vessel

In what ways did you demonstrate your skills as a Creative Learner while working on this project? Use the attribute list to guide you.

I demonstrated my skills as a creative learner by generating ideas for the group vessel, as it required creativity. Though it was challenging to make our thinking into actual work, but still it was fun. I was also able to be flexible in making the vessel product, as I tried to think outside the box to make it creative as possible.

In what ways did you demonstrate your skills as an Active Learner while working on this project? Use the attribute list to guide you.

I demonstrated my skills as an active learner by constantly editing and adding designs to vessel with collaboration of my teammates. I participated in making coils and I was able to organize my own environment which helped me to work better. I was aware and I knew what I was supposed to do and this could make preparation for next class.

When working in a group setting, what does each member of a group need to keep in mind? Give examples from your experience during this project.

When it comes to group working, each member of a group need to acknowledge that this is a group project which every member of the group should participate and collaborate. Each member should be partially putting in efforts to finish the assigned project.

Health Reflection

Impact of medias to teen’s mental health

Medias can possibly cause anxiety and depression, as it creates certain view that make teens believe on something. When they don’t fit into these criteria that media made, they would feel isolated.

Mental health stigma

Many people have limited knowledge about mental health conditions and their effects. Also, individuals may have had negative experiences with mental health services or those with mental illness, leading to biases. To solve these problems, Educational programs could promote mental health literacy through community programs and schools.

Summery

I learned about how media could cause biased perspectives such as wrong information and stigmas, and how it is important for teens to understand that these standards that media build does not impact teen’s life. I also used to think same with some stigmas about beauty standards, but through this opportunity, I learned about new things.

Evidence

We explained about the articles that show how cell phones impact teens both negatively and positively. We also mentioned about interview, showing how real high-schooler reacts and thinks about phone usage.

My opinion

My personal opinion about increased cell phone usage next year would definitely affect my social life and also health both emotionally and physically, because increased phone usage can have impact on my sleeping schedule and so much more.

Strategies

Some strategies to make sure that my phone would not give huge impacts on my mental health is that I should be not judging or compare myself to others on social media. Using social media is not a negative thing but it depends on how I think.

“Overall, these cellphone restrictions aim to reduce distractions and stress, fostering a more focused and connected school environment. Educators emphasize the importance of community input when establishing these policies to address concerns from students and parents alike. “

Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
  • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
