For critical thinker, I did a few tasks. The first one was the obscure solutions task, in which I had to draw a solution to various problems while being limited by the items I could use. This required me to think critically because I had to find strange and nonstandard solutions to the problems. Another one that I had to do was gomuku and nim, which was a kind of tic-tac-toe game that was played with another player. This game also required me to think critically because I had to come up with strategies to trick and beat my opponent.

Critical thinking tasks are important because they help me learn how to analyze, evaluate, and understand information in a deeper way. These tasks push me to think about problems carefully, question my assumptions, and come up with logical solutions. Reflecting on my experience with critical thinking, I realize how much it helps me approach ideas and challenges with more focus and clarity.

Another thing I’ve learned is the importance of being flexible. Often, I’ve started with an idea or conclusion, only to realize later that new information or other viewpoints have changed my perspective. This process has taught me to stay open-minded and willing to adjust my thinking when needed, even if it means admitting I was wrong.

Critical thinking also helps me solve problems more effectively. By breaking big challenges into smaller steps, I’ve learned how to approach problems in a more organized way. This has been useful not just for assignments, but also in real-life situations where I need to carefully weigh my options and make decisions.

Overall, critical thinking tasks are not just about finding the “right” answer. They are about learning how to think for myself, ask good questions, and approach challenges with curiosity and logic. Looking back, I can see how important critical thinking has been in helping me grow academically and personally.

The main skillful communicator task I did was the presentation. For this I went to the middle school to teach kids. This experience allowed me to practice essential skills such as patience and seeing other people’s perspectives. During my time at middle school, I helped kids learn fractions and percent in math class. I received overall poditive reviews from the kids.

Being a skillful communicator is an important part of both personal and professional growth. Communication is about more than just speaking or writing—it’s about understanding others, expressing ideas clearly, and creating meaningful connections. Reflecting on my experiences, I’ve learned how being an effective communicator can help build relationships, solve problems, and share ideas in a way that others can understand and appreciate.

One of the most important parts of communication is learning to listen. I’ve realized that listening carefully to others is just as important as sharing my own thoughts. When I take the time to really understand someone’s perspective, I’m able to respond in a way that is more thoughtful and respectful. This has helped me in group projects, conversations, and even resolving conflicts.

Another skill I’ve developed is adapting my communication style depending on the audience. For example, when explaining something to a friend, I might use casual language, but when presenting ideas in a formal setting, I make sure to be clear and professional. This ability to adjust helps ensure that my message is understood and taken seriously.

I’ve also improved my nonverbal communication, like maintaining eye contact, using gestures, and paying attention to tone of voice. These small things make a big difference in showing confidence and building trust with others.

Overall, being a skillful communicator is about more than just talking—it’s about connecting. Whether I’m writing, speaking, or listening, I’ve learned how to express myself clearly while also respecting and understanding others. Reflecting on this, I see how communication has helped me succeed in school, work, and personal relationships, and I know it will continue to be a key part of my growth in the future.

For resilience, I did the mindfulness walk and the vision board. The mindfulness walk was calming and allowed me to enjoy the natural scenery of our school, and the vision board personified my goals and beliefs. Both of these tasks allowed me to not only better understand myself but also helped me calm down and analyze my situation objectively and plan accordingly.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges, adapt to difficult situations, and keep moving forward. Reflecting on my experiences, I’ve realized how important this skill has been in helping me navigate setbacks and stay focused on my goals. Resilience isn’t just about being tough—it’s about learning from challenges and finding ways to grow stronger because of them.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned about resilience is the importance of staying positive during tough times. Instead of focusing on what went wrong, I try to focus on what I can do next or what the challenge has taught me. This mindset has helped me turn failures into learning opportunities and made me more confident in handling future obstacles.

Another part of resilience is staying flexible. Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and I’ve had to adjust my approach or find new ways to solve problems. Whether it’s a personal setback or a challenge at school or work, being willing to adapt has helped me keep moving forward instead of feeling stuck.

Building support systems has also been a key part of developing resilience. I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask for help or lean on others when I need it. Whether it’s friends, family, or mentors, having people to encourage me or offer advice has made it easier to overcome challenges.

Overall, resilience is about persistence, adaptability, and learning to see challenges as opportunities for growth. Reflecting on my journey, I can see how resilience has helped me handle difficult situations and come out stronger on the other side. It’s a skill that I continue to work on, and I know it will help me face future challenges with confidence and determination.

For an effective collaborator I built a bridge. I did it myself, and so I better understood the importance of teamwork because many of the things that I had to do would have been much easier if there was another person helping me

Throughout my experience working collaboratively, I have come to appreciate the significance of various tasks that contribute to a successful team dynamic. One of the most important tasks I had to undertake was fostering clear communication. Whether it was during brainstorming sessions or project updates, ensuring that everyone understood the goals and expectations was crucial. I made a conscious effort to actively listen to my teammates, ask clarifying questions, and provide concise updates on my progress. This not only helped avoid misunderstandings but also created a more inclusive environment where everyone felt heard.

Another vital task was delegating responsibilities effectively. In group settings, I often helped identify each member’s strengths and aligned those with specific tasks. For example, if someone was particularly skilled in research or design, I encouraged them to take ownership of that aspect. At the same time, I remained flexible, stepping in to assist others when needed to ensure the project stayed on track.

Problem-solving was another critical aspect of collaboration. Inevitably, challenges arose—whether it was a technical issue or a difference in opinions. I found that approaching these challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset and maintaining a respectful tone in discussions helped resolve conflicts efficiently.

Lastly, I learned the value of accountability. Meeting deadlines, fulfilling commitments, and being transparent about progress were key to earning and maintaining my teammates’ trust. These tasks, though sometimes challenging, contributed to my growth as a collaborator and reinforced the importance of adaptability, communication, and teamwork in achieving shared goals. Through these experiences, I developed a deeper understanding of effective collaboration and its impact on success.

As a creative learner, I have engaged in various tasks that have helped me develop innovative thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. One of the most important tasks I undertook was exploring new perspectives and ideas. For example, when approaching a project or assignment, I intentionally sought out unconventional solutions by brainstorming freely, researching diverse sources, and experimenting with different methods. This not only enhanced my creativity but also allowed me to approach challenges with an open mind.

Another significant task was connecting concepts across disciplines. I found it valuable to draw inspiration from different fields, such as using artistic techniques to solve analytical problems or applying storytelling principles to academic writing. This interdisciplinary approach often led to unique and effective solutions that might not have been apparent otherwise.

Reflection and self-assessment were also key tasks in my growth as a creative learner. After completing a project, I made it a priority to evaluate my process, considering what worked well and what could be improved. This habit of introspection helped me refine my skills and build confidence in my ability to think creatively.

Finally, collaboration played a vital role in my learning journey. Engaging with others allowed me to share ideas, gather constructive feedback, and gain new insights. By being receptive to different viewpoints and embracing collaboration, I expanded my creative capacity and learned to adapt my ideas to diverse contexts.

Through these tasks, I have discovered that creativity is not just about generating new ideas but also about persistence, adaptability, and continuous learning. These experiences have strengthened my ability to think outside the box and approach challenges with confidence and originality.

Vision board

Today I made a vision board. This vision board represents both my interests and some encouragement in the form of a quote. This board is intended to give me confidence and boost my motivation to do things by reminding me of the things that I enjoy.

Teaching a class📕

Last Thursday I decided to go and teach a 6th grade math class. I was there for two class blocks because my shift coincided with there block change. I taught some modelling with percents. The kids there were decently well-behaved and I could relate with them, but I spent a lot of time explaining the same thing to different people.

Photo activity

Today we had an activity in which we had to order some photos from most specific to least specific. This might sound easy, but in reality the photos were intentionally confusing, so it was difficult and we ended up failing getting them in the correct order once. I think that is was a good way for us to warm out brains up on a Monday morning. I had to do a reflection after, which is attached.

AI Cards Post🤖

My goal card is to make an effort to do my own thinking before turning to AI tools. this is important because if one simply turns to AI before doing the thinking themselves, they will end up not being able to actually do any of the thinking due to lack of practice. I will commit to this by monitoring my AI use by logging it. If I use it too much, I will seek help from professionals to resolve my AI problems. By doing this, I will improve my critical thinking and analysis skills. By the end, if I use AI to solve issues less than twice a month, I will have succeeded in my goal.

✪High school excitement✪

There are a lot of things that I am looking forward to in high school. First of all, we are allowed to play video games during breaks. Back in middle school, if we were caught playing video games, even during break, we would be punished, but now we are allowed to do whatever we please. Phone usage is also a lot less regulated. Another thing that I am excited about is that we can now take higher-level courses. This is good for me because in the past I didn’t feel like I was being challenged enough, and now I can skip some levels. In addition, we are finally allowed to order food, albeit only of Fridays, so now we are free of the monopoly that is our cafeteria and catering system. I am excited by the clubs as well, and I am looking forward to joining the quiz team. We are allowed to create our own clubs, so I am planning to create a 3D printer and modelling interest club with some of my friends to not only teach others 3D skills. We also plan on making some profit to purchase a 3D printer for the club through the international fair. We get a lot more freedom now as well, since extended learning can now be used more flexibly. Although the homework is noticeably more difficult and there is a lot more of it, I think that I still have enough time to complete it, especially with extended learning time added.

Now that I am in high school, I now realize that there are some things that I wish I knew before. Number one is that you should do your homework on the day it is assigned, because it will save you a lot of stress. Another thing I with I knew is that you should try out for different clubs so that you can find the ones that you are interested in. Lastly, I wish that I was aware that when dealing with other people, it is always best to avoid escalation to prevent you from getting into trouble.
