TTG REFELCTION🤔🧠

Critical Thinking:

For my critical thinking tasks, I enjoyed designing the printmaking for art. The mind maps really helped me to expand and organize my thoughts. 💡 And I was really happy that it allowed me to come up with many creative and visually attractive sketches : ) For the survival game and gomoku, I didn’t really feel that it helped me to improve my critical thinking. I could have done some research paper writing or annotated books.

Creativity:

The cake designing part was really tough and exercising, it allowed me to express my creativity while exhibiting critical thinking skills. Also making the trailer for 2BRO2B was also quite challenging, but SUPER fun collaborating with classmates and I felt really proud looking at the product even though it took us forever to finish it. It really made me feel the process of how a short film is made and made me quite interested in the realm of filming for a long time. I was always taking literature in film, and film production courses, so it was super cool for me to actually make one myself.

Communication:

The experience of making the podcast was really memorable, and it also facilitated communication with my mom. Also it was really helpful with the peer edits, which was also part of communicating. 💬

Collaboration:

Setting up a fitness routine was really helpful for me to improve my weaknesses (idk why it’s in collaboration but yeah). Collaboration also kind of links with communication, collaboration with others was really helpful in terms of helping me improve my social and communication skills.

Resilience:

Overall, I feel like the resilience tasks were kind of ambiguous and aimless and weren’t really connected. But they were the easiest and quite fun to do, it was great eating different kinds of food and taking a walk outside in the afternoon. The achieving a goal was the one that really seemed “resilient” to me, it was really a challenge on my resilience when I want to give up on the goal.

Dont pollute the sea🌊🐟🐬

For my art lab rough drafts, I chose marine pollution as my global awareness. I wanted to create depth with my lines, perspectives and etc.

This is my mind map when I consider marine pollution. I brainstormed different trash that I could include in my drawing and different ways of expressing.

I did 3 rough drafts, but here’s the one I chose:

I was inspired by air ballons, and wanted to use different trash to build up the idea of air ballons. And the teachers liked the other ideas, however, I think for this, I could play around with perspective to make it more interesting than ever.

After a weekend of hard work, this is what I now have:

(unfinished version)

My original idea was always objects rising above water, and I wanted to do those really exaggerated perspectives, either looking up or down. I was confused and stuck a long time because I’ve never tried these perspectives before, and the help and resources I found weren’t really useful. So I tried the same structural perspective lines like the one point perspective sketch, and used the idea of “Everything looks small in the distance and big on the contrary.”

I did a rough sketch and realized something still made the drawing look flat, and I played with my candy box🍬, and noticed when you look upwards, you’re supposed to see the bottom of a box, which then, added more realistic 3D bottoms to the items rising above.💡

Acheiving my goal🏃🏃🏃🏃

resilient 9

Every Saturday we had to do 20 x 10 1 minute court runs, even though there is no requirement to run 20, and it is VERY tiring, my goal is still to run the most that I can, and run at least 5* 20s.

I think the running interval on Friday really helped me, because I felt that my legs were less heavy than before on Saturday. And I improved the way I touched the way and turned direction, I stopped 1 step before and reached my hand instead of my leg, and it was easier for me to turn around. And I kept keeping up with my friend no matter how tired I was. At last I got the best record in the court, with 7 20s in a row and after that, 2 19s and at last another 20. 🏃

Even though it was great to achieve my goal, but my heart rate was exceeding the zone by too much, it was at 200 or smth. And my face was really really red🔥, and the aorta🫀 in my throat was beating soo bad that I had to hold on to my throat to make it hurt less. After each run, I was experiencing chest pain and chest tight, and I couldn’t breathe or slow my breathing. And after the last run, I felt that I was dying, like no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t slow my heartbeat, and later on I was wobbly and so weak that I couldn’t swing. But after a while, I could matchplay properly again.

My friend told me that pushing too hard, and especially resulting in my condition at that time, would have resulted in a faster heart decay and is quite dangerous and unhealthy for the body. I was scared but also proud at the same time. 😨

After all, achieving your goal is good, but when you know that ur goal is probably near your extreme, don’t push yourself too much over your extreme. 🔥

Mindfulness eating 1.0 + 2.0

1.0

Last Sunday, I ate some super tasty udon with Alexia at the Japanese restaurant near my house. It was super good, and I eat it every two weeks.

For the ingredients, I observed udon noodles, beef, seaweed, mushroom, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, lettuce, salt. They were probably carried from different cities in China.

2.0:

Day before yesterday I ordered a chairsu rice, it tasted great at first, the sauce coped really good with the rice. But then, i started eating my half raw egg, nad then when the raw yolk spilled over my rice, the meal started taste disgusting and liquidy, the rice was wet and it no longer was chewy, and the Charisu seems to be too sweet.

Thank you card🙏✉️

For Christmas, I bought a basketball jelly cat🏀 for my brother and wrote a thank you card to him. I was really grateful for him to watch my squash matches support me even when he was super busy, and giving me advice that helped me improve and gain confidence.

He also gave me back a donut jellycat, because I make the best donuts. 🍩

FITness routine💪

Improving agility and speed

This is my fitness routine on Saturdays when i train, it helps achieve my goal of improving agility and helps practice my lunges and pull back speed. It consists mainly of different running intervals, HIIT, and also match play at the end. This is an ideal 2 hour training routine.

MCDONALD’S🍔 INFLUENCE IN CHINA🇨🇳–a cultural shift

For PBA, we had to conduct research on an influential event and write a magazine, and I had a McDonalds burger in my hand, so I thought about writing about how McDonald’s influenced China from various aspects. Such as initializing the fast food industry, opening the gateway for other Western food companies, also indirectly facilitating the formation of a fast-paced urban lifestyle. 🔥🔥⚡️

🍳🥓🌭🍟🍕🥪

After the research and essay writing, we had to do an interview(inside the podcast) with someone greatly related to the topic, I tried to contact different international/Chinese departments, however, it’s really hard to find their contact information and none of the 10 that I contacted with replied. So I had to find someone else related. Even though interviewing a family member isn’t that cool, but my mom remembers the time she first ate McDonalds.

2BRO2B releases a new TRAILER🎬 (?)🥶

ACTUALLy I made a trailer for the dystopian short story 2BRO2B by Kurt Vonnegut, which addresses the dehumanized world that faces the problem of OVERPOPULATION. (i love reading dystopian writings)

For this, I was both the director, cameraman, and editor. I remember annotating the whole PDF and marking the most important scenes, characters, and symbols (like the purple bag), and then listing them down as different scenes. At that time I was REALLY into film and literature and took a lot of related courses in school and summer programs, so I was sooo happy that I had to do a lot of work. Which I did then I took a whole week doing the storyboard based on my annotated pdf. (which i was so proud of)

I designed a “sacrifice document” as recorded in the short story according to my own understanding:

After that, we organized a filming schedule:

And we started buying props and looking for the appropriate portrayal of the 2bro2b mural, contacting stores on wether they could print this. Buying microphones and running around the building to find the best place with the appropriate echos. Endlessly filming, taking days to figure out the best quality and most stable videos we could film without a camera but using a phone. Experimenting with whether the shots in the storyboard were unfeasible or could be made better. 👇this is one of the shots that we worked the longest on (my hand was wobbling so bad)

Lastly, spending forever editing, finding background music, and admiring my work.

And as I liked short thrilling trailers, our trailer wasn’t long enough. But in our class, with double the amount of voting than the second place, our trailer was considered the coolest one ever.

I’ll regret for my whole life for not saving the product😭 because now that I’ve got it from WeChat, it’s super blurry. but anyways, i cant upload a video here so here’s a link to ur final TRAILER🎬
