Black Rhinos:

For my endangered species project I chose the majestic Black Rhino.

“Between 1970 and 1993, the population of black rhinos decreased by 96% from approximately 65,000 to only 2,300 surviving in the wild. Since 1996, intense anti-poaching efforts and strategic translocations to safer areas have allowed the species to slowly recover.”

🚨Minor Media Mistakes🚨

Embedding media is a really great way to add visual representation to your written text, as well as increase reader engagement! We should always include at least one image in our posts.

One thing to keep in mind is that when we simply upload a media image without making adjustments, the size is often too small for the reader. They won’t be able to view the image you included! Take a look at the three examples below:

Here is an image of how to draw the Mona Lisa, a famous paining by Leonardo Di Vinci while he was in Florence, Italy between 1503-1519. Check it out – I added a link to where I got the information in case my readers are curious!

How to draw the Mona Lisa

You can see that the picture is small and really difficult to read and follow along. It would be more helpful if it was larger, so let’s try again.

  1. We are going to click the image and edit with the pencil button.
  2. From here we will adjust the size from the default medium to large (or your preference).
  3. Save your changes and click “Preview” in the top right hand corner of the page to see what your readers will see.

That’s not bad, but let’s take one more step to make it better.

  1. We are going to click the image and edit with the pencil button.
  2. From here we will adjust the size from the default medium to large (or your preference).
  3. Next, under “Advanced Options” please click the box that says “Open Link in a new Tab”.
  4. Save your changes and click “Preview” in the top right hand corner of the page to see what your readers will see.

There you have it! Now you can adjust the size of your image to make it better for your readers and really enhance your post! Also, you can move your image using the “Alignment Tools” in the edit button. Give it a try! If you want to watch a video to learn this, please click below!
