Embedding media is a really great way to add visual representation to your written text, as well as increase reader engagement! We should always include at least one image in our posts.

One thing to keep in mind is that when we simply upload a media image without making adjustments, the size is often too small for the reader. They won’t be able to view the image you included! Take a look at the three examples below:

You can see that the picture is small and really difficult to read and follow along. It would be more helpful if it was larger, so let’s try again.

1. We are going to click the image and edit with the pencil button.
2. From here we will adjust the size from the default medium to large (or your preference).
3. Save your changes and click “Preview” in the top right hand corner of the page to see what your readers will see.

That’s not bad, but let’s take one more step to make it better.

3. Next, under “Advanced Options” please click the box that says “Open Link in a new Tab”.
4. Save your changes and click “Preview” in the top right hand corner of the page to see what your readers will see.
