Healthy relationships WOOP goal no°2 reflection

During this unit, I chose to talk more to my siblings when my mom called them. For example, every night, my mom called my brother to see how he was doing before going to school to check on him. I sometimes joined in on the call to see what was going on and say hi. Sometimes, I would miss the call and would just talk to my mom about how their lives were going and what was happening in France. I would also sometimes talk to mom about my aunts and uncles if she called though I wouldn’t be able to join their calls as I would be asleep when she would call them or be called by them.

My WOOP goal did not scan properly so here it is

Since these were voice calls, I don’t have any photos of this, but I know much more about my family like my sister’s new internship and my brother’s school being a classic French school. (being very annoying)

In conclusion, I think this made me a bit closer to my siblings though my relationship would have been better if I was in physical contact with them, like when I live in the same house and have to talk to them every day. I chose this wish because my relationship with my siblings is a bit rough. Some steps that I can take to achieve this wish fully is to spend more of my summer break with my brother and sister.

Mental Health Unit Reflection

During this health unit, I learned that not all mental health conditions come from yourself. They can come from your childhood or from your environment. I used to think that eating disorders were only eating too much, but now I understand that people can have eating disorders when they don’t eat enough. Before this unit, I thought that bipolar was a mental disorder that made you more violent, but during this unit, I learned that it is just large mood swings that can go from being normal to mad in seconds.

During this unit, I also discovered that therapy is a really helpful way for people to get support when having a mental health disorder. Not only does it allow people to share what they are feeling, but it also allows them to get much better as seen in the graph. In the graph, it shows that at the start, people with PTSD had a high PTSD score (severity of it) but after 4 months, their scores lowered significantly.

During this unit, I learned that PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), affects people in many ways. It can make someone relive a traumatic experience, like being assaulted or witnessing a death, through flashbacks or bad memories. These memories can cause anxiety and depression, leading individuals to avoid getting help which can worsen their condition.

In conclusion, I have learnt that not all mental health illnesses are things to be afraid of, you just need to foster a sense of self for the other person, and support them in their journey to recovery.

Health Artifact 1: Unit 1 Reflection

I chose this artifact because I think I could have written much more. In the feedback, I was told that I could include more detail and more understanding using images to show what I learned during the unit. I think I could have used more of the words we learned during the unit to write more paragraphs and use more photos to explain each paragraph in detail.

Health Artifact 2: Wellness App Review

I chose this artifact because I think I did well. Over the course of a week, I used the app that I chose during the project and detailed all the different ways it helped me achieve my WOOP goal and how it can be used. I include screenshots highlighting all the important aspects of the app, including the workout goals, tips for running, and your streak.

Art artifact 2: Cultural Textile

I chose this artifact because I think I could have done a bit better on the response. In the feedback, I was told I could deepen my thinking in the written response component of the textile. I am also proud of the textile I created because even though I missed 2 classes due to being sick, I was able to finish it in time without having to do things outside of class.

Art Artifact 1: Clay Artwork

I chose this artifact because I think I did a good job. I used a lot of the clay kneading techniques that we were taught in class and made an artwork that I am proud of. I made an assassin’s teacup that although isn’t good to drink out of, still looks cool and looks like it works on the outside.

Passion Project 4.0

The purpose of my Napoleon comic ball of the loss of Waterloo is to make learning about the battle as fun as possible without having to watch a video explaining every small detail or reading a 12 page long essay about it.

Health App Review: Runna

How The App works

The app is extremely easy to use, with an easy to follow tutorial. It gives you a quick tutorial when you first open the app, giving you a rundown of every basic feature, and tells you where to find out how to use other features. If you find yourself stuck, there are lots of FAQs and lots of troubleshooting posts that the people running Runna post.

Complications

It might require a bit of time to get to your goal but it is well made, designed to help you in the long run. It mainly tries to get your endurance and speed up a bit, and offers many different programs such as the post injury program or the 5 km program, offering stretching exercises and running tips.

Basic and advanced features

Some basic features are firstly, the 6 week 5 km run program and some other more advanced features are being able to switch the type of program to a more intense one, like the 12 week run or some interval training.  There is also the watch feature, where you can connect your watch to the app, so it can give more accurate information of your calories and the

How it supports my goal

The app supports my WOOP goal as it asks me when I want to run and train. It also helps me go to the gym as there are treadmills in the gym, allowing me to train and be close to the other machines which I always use if I go running.

This app can add a lot of value to a user’s life as it can get people to run and get fit. It can also get people to make time for important things, giving them more of a reason to go outside and exercise and add meaning to the things that they do. They can also do these exercises with their significant other so they can bond more and become fit at the same time.

How it helps develop healthy habits

This app can improve body and brain health as it gives the benefits of running mentally and physically and gives reminders of when you should run. It gives you ways to meditate and stretch to relax your brain and it gives running exercises that are good to keep you in shape

How it helps with brain and body health

Runna also gives you

This app uses a humane design as it doesn’t use notifications to get you hooked, only to do something you planned. This app can help people if they aren’t motivated to exercise and can help people get into shape in the long run.
