I chose the chamber unit as my artifact because it was one of the highlights of our orchestra this school year. In this unit, we divided into smaller groups and created an ensemble. My group selected a piece that balanced and showcased the melodies of all instruments. Ultimately, we were able to perform the piece with rich dynamics, quality articulations, and more.
For this presentation, we researched a cultural heritage in Chinese history with a partner and talked about the various aspects of it, including the history, specialities, the science behind it, and the benefits from it.
The purpose of today’s conference is to talk and explain to you about my work I did at school.
I’d like to share:
What I’ve done and what I still want to achieve
Some areas of growth, struggles, and some of my work
My goals and how I plan to achieve them
My Vision Board
Some of the things included on my vision board are:
Future goals
Interests
Roles
What I want to focus on this year
These are important because:
My vision board shares my vision of me in the future, the future goals/colleges I want to go to, the field interests, what kind of roles I want to take on, and what I want to focus on this specific year, which is well-being.
My Goals Are:
1. Improving my work efficiency
2. Increasing my awareness knowledge
3. Always be updated in Schoology, grades, and comments
The TTG I chose to reflect upon throughout the year is Ethical Global Citizen. This is because I would like to dig deeper into how I can contribute positively to the community and gain insight into broader views and understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives.
I remember struggling with my serve in pickleball at first. I decided to practiced it repeatedly and take in advice from my peers. Eventually, I figured out the right grip and position, which allowed me to give out quality serves.
What new skills or techniques have you learned this semester? Which skills do you feel most confident about? What skill do you want to work on next?
I have been able to learn new skills and techniques in many fields and sports, including drop shots in badminton and serves in pickeball.
I feel confident in serving in badminton because I learned how to serve forehand serve well.
Thinking of the future, I plan on learning more complex techniques in badminton.
From my first essay to the second, I demonstrated significant personal growth in my social studies skills. In the beginning, I effectively engaged in debate preparations which laid a strong foundation for my understanding of complex social issues. By the second reflection, I expanded my analytical abilities, clearly connecting historical events to their broader contexts, specifically regarding the impact of WWI on Alsace Lorraine. My use of researched evidence improved, showcasing a deeper comprehension of the material. Moving forward, I recognize the need for even more detailed analysis, indicating my commitment to continuous improvement in my studies. I was able to enhance my ability to draw nuanced connections between concepts, resulting in a more sophisticated and cohesive argument.
In unit 2, we dove into analytical reading and writing. In this assignment, we chose a moral dilemma, unpacked it, and explored multiple short stories that revolved around the main idea of our moral dilemmas.
I chose to use this assignment as an artifact because we are writing another essay on our own passions currently and this previous work has taught me skills to analyze complex themes and effectively implement my thoughts into my writing.
These are two artifacts from Unit 2. Unit 2 was all about applying powers: simplifying powers, operations with scientific notation, and more. Based on the feedback I got from Mrs. Fisher, these are my strengths, areas of improvement, and personal growth.
Strengths:
Clearly explaining the product rule for exponents
Effectively connecting evidence to my claim with precision
Providing strong reasoning that tied my claim to specific examples
Using and applying the properties of integer exponents
Calculating and comparing numbers in scientific notation (Mostly)
Areas of Improvement:
Breaking my reasoning into shorter sentences for better readability while maintaining depth
Need to include an answer statement when responding to word problems
Should ensure all specifications in the directions are performed, in this case, operations are performed in scientific notation

My science notebook is well-organized, helping me with keep track of things and find a activity whenever I could.
Active Learner Habits
I do not have any late assignments. I grew in “Aware of self as learner”, much from this unit, as the unit is all about going at your own speed, meaning that I have full control of my learning process. Right now, I am able to complete all of the homework in class, meaning that I dial in too.
Understanding of Key Concepts
Around 80% of my concept checks meet a 3, meaning that I am constantly reviewing the subject. However, I will need to be more consistent as there are still some 2s.
Growth in Science Skill (Engaging in Argument from Evidence)
This is two of the CERs I did this year so far. From my CERs, I was not only able to complete a well structured CER, I was able to go above and beyond to writing the science behind the reasoning.
