Introduction

The purpose of my conference is to… student to explain why they are here and what they want to share with their parents about their learning journey.

I’d like to share:

My goals and how I plan to achieve them

What I’ve done and what I still want to achieve

Some areas of growth, struggles, and some of my work

My Vision board

I was born in hong kong, thats why I have the picture there

My sometimes favorite subject is math

My favorite sport is basketball

My Goals Are:

1.I want to get better grades

2.more likely to ask questions

3.Do better in DT

I did better this year because I got better grades first semester and I asked more questions, I still need to work on DT

Transdisciplinary Transfer Goal (TTG)

The TTG I chose to reflect upon throughout the year is

Communicate more by working with a group

Artifact 1 – The Before and After

Core Subject: Social Studies

artifact 1

In this first unit, we had to make a poster about a topic and relate it to social studies, I chose youtube because I watch it a lot and it would be fun to relate it to social studies and learn its culture, the project was pretty hard but Ms.De helped me go through it, I growed in my canva making skills and learning new things, I learned more things about youtube and I also learned to communicate about youtube with others. Also expanding on the topic I am doing

artifact 2

In the ww1 essay, we had to write a essay about a topic in ww1,I learned about tanks. Tanks are very interesting because I like vehicles with big guns on them. The hardest part in the essay is trying to express the ideas clearly for the audience to understand. Paragraph 3 is also a hard paragraph, because trying to say the future of the tank since ww1 is harder than the past. I learned how to use AI properly as a tool to edit my work

Core Subject: English

I will now share my progress in English

Strengths

  • Multiplying fractions
  • Ratios
  • Finding patterns

This is one of the storeys that I wrote for reading and writing passport, reading and writing passport is a very important part in English because very unit we need to do one.

Artifact 2

Artifact 1

Core Subject: Science I will now share my progress in science

Evidence of Organization

  • I have gotten better in modeling
  • after
  • The first one is the before and the second one is the after, you can see that the second one has more detail than the first one.

How useful is my science notebook as a learning tool?

  • My science notebook became more useful as the school year continued, as I took more care to add details and clarity to my work.

Evidence of Active Learner Habits

  • My grades in science

For my 3 for 3 some of it I didn’t really understand, thats why some of it I got a bad score, and I didn’t really slow down and think of the questions.

Evidence of Understanding of Key Concepts

For this CER I wrote about the Wolves, CER I think I had good evidence, but the reasoning was not enough to support my evidence.

Core Subject:Math 🧮

I will now share my progress in Math…..

Strengths

  • Multiplying fractions
  • Ratios
  • Finding patterns

Areas of Growth

  • Showing my work
  • Using units
  • Converting units

As you can see I have finished most of my math homework, just a few missing assignments.

My Passion Project

Ice Cream challenge

In this Ice cream project I learned How to turn a liquid into a solid by making ice cream, and I also learned that salt can make it easy to turn liquid into a solid.

Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

  • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
  • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
  • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
  • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
