Teens mental Health and Wellness

I think that the media influence the teens health by people posting a pretty picture of them selfs, and make the teens feel pressured when the teens see what others look like and comparing it to them selfs. The reason why mental health stigma exist is caused by the misunderstanding by the public, or lack knowledge about mental health issues. We can reduce this by educating the public about what is right and also promote movies that have a correct understanding about these mental health issues. I used to think that many of these mental health issues are not that severe, and they can be cured easily, but after this unit I have learned about much much impact the social media and bring to teens. I also learned about how much pain the people with these disorders are facing. This made me know that we need to give a lot of support to them, and we need to talk to them more to further understand them.

    Reflection

1.The 9th grader said that cell phones sometimes distracts her from focusing in class, and she will also have peer pressure when she sees people posting things on douyin. However she also said that cellphones is a very good tool for communication.

    2. I think that cellphones right now can help me communicate with friends and family, however I think that phones will also distract me when I am doing HW, because I might want to see what other people are up to. i think that it would be really helpful if we have phone in school then if there is a problem we can communicate with our parents right away.

    3. I would try to still talk with friends even if i have my phone beside me.

    WOOP Goal 2

My woop goal is to sleep for a longer time at night. This is because when I get more sleep I am more focused in class. Some of the obstacles I’m facing right now is getting distracted by my phone, so I will pur my phone outside of my room when i get to sleep at night.

It was really important for us to include seconds on our paper so that we can count as we walk, and that caused us having a really close number to our predicted time.

    Welcome to Your New Portfolio!

Why have a digital portfolio at SAS?

Creating a portfolio, or blog is a great way to collect all the work you’ve done throughout your academic career. You can include academic, athletic, and personal artifacts or experiences that you want to share with a wider audience. This is a great way to organize all your learning in one place and you can take it with you when you leave SAS.  When you make your portfolio, you create posts that are categorized according to your subject. Some categories have already been set up for you, but if you need more categories you can add them as needed. It’s important that your posts have the following:

    • An engaging title – this should not include the name of the subject since this is referenced in the category. Think of this as the first opportunity to engage and hook your reader!
    • Body – this is where you share your learning. This should include a combination of text and media in the form of images, graphics, and embedded videos. You should always consider how your post looks to your audience. Is it engaging and organized? Do they want to keep reading?
    • Category – select one that has been set for you or add a new category. Posts can have more than one category e.g. Humanities and Myself as a Learner
    • Tags – create tags that can be used as keywords to describe your post. Tags help organize your post a little more! Aim to have 3-5 tags for each post. For example, if you are posting about a novel you wrote, you might want the following tags: #Fiction, #MurderMystery, #Theme, #PlotDiagram
